Interview with Franck Michel, Quality & Talent Development Manager at MJ Holidays

In this interview, Franck Michel, former hotel manager and certified instructor, who led the Kaizen training course, shares MJ Holidays’ vision of implementing this innovative approach.

Q : What specific aspects of hotel management training have been most beneficial in improving the quality of customer service at MJ Holidays?

Franck Michel: “We set up a training and coaching programme focusing on leadership, with an emphasis on communication, stress management and employee motivation. This programme aims to develop a strong corporate culture and prioritize tasks to significantly improve the quality of customer service.”

Q : How does this programme fit in with MJ Holidays’ philosophy?

Franck Michel: “This programme encourages innovation, personal development and employee well-being. By better understanding employee profiles, our leaders improve communication, manage conflict and customize employee motivation, resulting in an exceptional quality of service in line with our corporate excellence culture.”

Q : Have you seen an increase in customer satisfaction since the training was introduced?

Franck Michel: “Our programme incorporates approaches such as the DISC model, which improves communication and conflict management. Our leaders are more effective, resulting in a much higher quality of customer service and more harmonious and productive working environments.”

 

The success and challenges of the Kaizen method as applied by our MJ Holidays staff

For Aurélie Marie, Assistant Resident Manager at Mythic Suites&Villas, the major challenge was managing operations remotely while following the training course. Thanks to the flexibility and understanding of the instructor, who is also a hotel manager, this challenge was overcome. Aurélie Marie points out that the training courses enabled the company to better position itself and to pinpoint real issues, providing a valuable opportunity for feedback. Measures were then put in place at various levels to improve performance and employee satisfaction, thereby strengthening team cohesion and efficiency.

Franky Genato Ragoo, Operations Manager at Marguery Villas, points out that the main challenge was to get employees interested in some of the household chores. To overcome this challenge, the team worked together to identify the root causes of this reluctance and guided the employees through the positive impact of their development on customers, the company and themselves. Constant monitoring was put in place to assess the programme’s effectiveness. The results are encouraging: improved services, greater employee and customer satisfaction, and the interest of participants in pursuing the programme to improve their knowledge all testify to the success of this initiative.
